Hunter- Analysis of past student thrillers
Camera
The camera work in Hunter starts off with a long shot of the man walking into the school. They have then used a shot reverse shot, POV shot during the conversation with the man and Mr Hunter. As the conversation ends and Mr Hunter hurries off, the man walks out the classroom and makes a phone call they have then sued a tracking shot this engages the audience, as we are aware that we should not loose focus and concentrate on the man as something is about to happen.
Editing
The editing in Hunter is extremely good. It starts off with a galaxy productions introduction, this sets a mood for the audience and is a good technique as most films start off their production line. It starts off with fast cuts to build up the tension and suspense which leads to the interview. As the interview finishes and the police officer makes the phone call, as soon as he gets hit with the bat everything goes black which matches the action of being knocked out. Lastly, it then dissolves into the bodies are then end, which is a good effect to use as it builds suspense for the audience, as they are wondering what the blurred background is, and then it suddenly shows the bodies and cuts which builds up mystery and suspense for the audience.
Miss En Scene
It is set in a school, which is an unusual setting, however the tension is built up as there is no one around or in sight. The classroom is deserted which creates tension as there is no one around to witness anything if something goes wrong, or happens. This creates a disorientated atmosphere for the audience and characters. As we meet Mr Hunter, we are shown him dressed in all black, in a PE teacher outfit, however the black may reveal the danger/different side of him. As we see the police officer on the phone. the lights start to flicker which tell us that something is not right and is about to go wrong. This is slowly followed with a dark figure dressed in all black slowly approaching, which confirms the judgement.
Sound
As Hunter starts we hear two loud noises which resemble a bomb going off, this gets the audience startled and disorientated. There is also little dialogue which sets the scene to be distressed and mysterious.
